RMEA provides a wide range of environmental services to our clients, but our specialties include:
Hydrologic Modeling of Groundwater/Surface-water Interactions
Flow Measurements and Surface Water Studies — Water Use Verification
Water Quality Studies
Groundwater Supply Evaluations, Aquifer Testing, Well Design
Services for Non-Profits and Conservation Realtors
Water right transactions often require analysis of the relationship between flow and pumping at multiple locations. Mitigation plans must be assessed to ensure that the benefits of mitigation reach the appropriate protection targets. Wetland and stream restoration projects often require analysis of water supply and the interrelationships between groundwater and surface water. Site remediation can require understanding of the sources and destinations of water moving across the surface or through the subsurface of the site. Efforts to improve water management, such as managed recharge projects, require assessment of the expected effects upon local and regional aquifers and connected surface-water bodies.
RMEA staff have participated for ten years in development and use of the Idaho Department of Water Resources' Eastern Snake Plain Aquifer Model (versions 1.1 and 2.0). They also have experience in hydrologic analysis in the Spokane Valley/Rathdrum Prairie Aquifer and other eastern Idaho aquifer analysis efforts.
RMEA has conducted surface water studies for a variety of clients, from landowners who need to have their stream flow or irrigation flows measured, to large-scale evaluations of surface and groundwater hydrology, sometimes involving entire watersheds. Some of these projects have been related to fisheries, and problems associated with hydrologic alteration and irrigation diversions. RMEA also conducts Water Use Verification relative to water-right or delivery
RMEA has conducted numerous groundwater supply projects throughout the region. These projects have included the location of high-yield wells sites, aquifer testing, permitting, and well design.
RMEA supports the conservation of our precious environmental resources and considers eastern Idaho and Western Wyoming to be one of the greatest places in the U.S. for outdoor recreation. We conduct a range of services in support of regional conservation non-profits and conservation-oriented real estate firms. Our clients include Trout Unlimited, the Teton Regional Land Trust, Friends of the Teton River, The Nature Conservancy, Live Water Properties, and Beartooth Capital.
